Free Support
Generally this is sensible begining advise for most problems I see, your problems are so wide ranging it won't be relevent to everyone.
- Switch off and back on your computer really always do this even if it doesn't make logical sense you'll be supprised how often it works. (especially if the problem is power related switch off at the mains leave for 30 seconds and power back on again)
- The computer will do random strange stuff when overheating so try leaving off at the mains for an hour
- Switch off all computer equipment, printers, routers, wireless stuff, if you get Internet through the TV box, that too. Switch it all off at the mains for 30 seconds
- Try unplugging all equipment that is not essential at this point, e.g. printers, internet, routers, just the minimum needed to examine the fault
- Depending on your problem, if you can get to the windows desktop (asuming microsoft windows), under help and support you have "restore my compter to an earlier point in time" this is safe for anyone to run. If your computer worked fine last week for example, use system restore to return the computer to a date when it worked fine
- Also try runing a virus scan to eliminate that
- In my computer / right click C: / properties / tools, choose check disk. Run this scan to auto fix some problems
- Try updating using your system from download.microsoft.com
- Try the Internet Generation knowledgebase for information
- You can also try microsoft knowledgebase, generally this is for the highly experienced but the content is very well written and very exhanustive
